Darren R. Adams is a proud member of the Maywood Wheaton (IL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa
Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. Darren was initiated into Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. in the fall of
1989 at the Alpha Delta of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc, which is located on the campus of
Fisk University in Nashville, TN. While attending Fisk University, Darren crossed enrolled at
Vanderbilt University to participate in their Reserved Officers Training Corps (ROTC). As well,
Darren was a member of the Fisk University Track and Field team.
As an undergraduate member of the Alpha Delta Chapter, Darren held the offices of Vice
Polemarch and Dean of Pledges. Darren is a 1992 graduate of Fisk University with a B.S.
Degree in Business Management and Finance.
My Story
As a member of the Maywood Wheaton Alumni Chapter Darren has served in numerous positions including Assistant Keeper of Exchequer, Assistant KOR, Keeper of Records, Vice Polemarch, Polemarch, and as a member of the Board of Directors. Darren has also served in numerous committee chairmanships for the future growth of the Chapter. Darren is a subscribing life member of the North Central Province Life Membership Program and while serving the North Central Province, Darren has held various leadership positions over the past 17 years including Province Reporter, Assistant Keeper of Records, Province Keeper of Records, and Chairman of the C. Rodger Wilson Leadership Conference. Darren was appointed by the Province Board of Directors to Senior Province Vice Polemarch of the North Central in September 2017. Darren has proudly and humbly served the Brothers of the NCP with special attention focused on the growth and sustainability of the undergraduate membership.
Darren was born and raised in Gary, Indiana, and is the son of Marcille J. Jones (Indianapolis) and James Donald Adams (Zurich). He is a 1987 graduate of the famed Roosevelt High School, where he participated in the JROTC program and became Cadet Commander for the cities Brigade command over the 5 JROTC programs. He was also the Co-Commander of the Roosevelt JROTC Drill team. Darren was raised with one younger sister Tynise B. Jones of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. (Purdue Chapter) and is proudly married to his wife of 13 years, Angela K. Adams (Leonard) of East St. Louis, IL and they have 3 daughters Raven Adams (Chicago), Brandi Leonard (Oak Park) & Sydni Adams (Los Angelos) and one grandson Niko Landon. Darren proudly serves as a newly installed Deacon (October 2022) at Harmony Community Church of Lawndale, IL under the leadership of Brother Pastor James L. Brooks.
Professionally, Darren is an Area Vice President of Business Development of Amedisys Home Health, the second-largest publicly traded Home Health Company in the United States. Darren has Business Development responsibility for 22 sales representatives covering IL, IN, WI, and 8 offices throughout his region. Darren has held numerous other positions of increasing responsibility during this career, including roles as a Bank Examiner with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, Specialty Regional Sales Director with Ashfield Healthcare, and a stent with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in field and hospital sales.
